NERDiT Recycles is a responsible electronics recycler — and a different kind of recycling company. We were founded on a simple belief: the technology businesses throw away can build futures instead of filling landfills.
Every device we collect is securely wiped, then refurbished for reuse or responsibly broken down for material recovery. Through our partner nonprofit, NERDiT Cares, the equipment we recover is donated to families, students, and community organizations — and the work of recycling it trains young people for paid careers in IT.
NERDiT Recycles began because we needed a way to help our communities even more. During COVID-19, families, students, and organizations were desperate for computers — and we struggled to supply enough. Becoming a recycler changed that. By partnering with businesses across the region to responsibly recycle retired technology, we keep usable equipment out of landfills and put it back in the hands of people who need it most. For us, recycling isn't just good for the planet — it's how we close the digital divide.
It started with a gift. When Markevis was in 8th grade, a teacher handed him an old computer to take apart and repair. He fell in love with technology — and never looked back.
That spark became NERDiT, which grew from a small repair operation into a full recycling and refurbishment company — and earned a national spotlight on ABC's Shark Tank. Today, Markevis leads a family of NERDiT brands on a mission to close the digital, income, and wealth divides.
